Description

SUMMARY

 

The RetailSupervisor assists in the daily operation and upkeep of all three retaildepartments at Splash Lagoon. The person filling this position will also learnvaluable skills required by the retail sector, including inventory control,pricing, and ordering under the supervision of the Retail Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES whichmay include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

 

  1. Must be able to perform the duties of a Retail Attendant.

a. Multi-tasking between helping existing guests with their needs andlooking out for         other guest whomay need help.

              b. Communicate with RetailAssociates and guests regarding various merchandise                     items.

  1. Stocks the gift shop/sweet shop with different items.
  2. Sets up displays or arranges merchandise on counters, tables, racks topromote sales.
  3. Secures, monitors, records, and tracks merchandise.
  4. Keeps the gift shop, sweet shop and locker hut clean and orderly bycleaning up and folding different articles of clothing and arrangingcollectibles.
  5. Keep record of sales and prepares and conducts monthly inventory ofstock.
  6. Communicate with Retail Manager in regards to inventory levels.
  7. Operate a POS station and handle its various functions.
  8. Must be able to do simple and complex math including basic arithmetic,percentages, and fractions.
  9. Must be able to understand pricing, purchasing, and inventorymaintenance.
  10. Must be able to read, and interpret printed material and illustrations.
  11. Able to lift and drag up to 100 pounds unassisted.
  12. Able to sit stand for extended periods of time.
  13. Able to communicate verbally with guests and other employees.
  14. Ability to follow and accomplish instructions & procedures.
  15. Ensuring Retail Attendants follow Splash Lagoon Policies and Procedures;

a. Retail Supervisor may initiate and follow disciplinary actions up tobut NOT including suspension and/or termination.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. This employee is responsiblefor maintaining an environment that is both safe and pleasant for pool patrons.

2.  This employee is required toassist in maintaining a high level of customer service (Aloha    Spirit).

3.  Thisemployee may be required, on an occasional basis, tosupervise other employees.

4.  This employee may be required toparticipate in the setting up and positioning of merchandise.

5.  This employee may be required toassist in the counting and recording of inventory.

6.  Thisemployee performs other tasks and/or related duties asassigned or required by management and supervisors when necessary.

7.  Thisemployee is to wear approved uniform and any necessaryjob-related equipment during assigned shift or anytime while on duty.

8.  Thisemployee may be subject to both pre-employment and randomdrug/alcohol screening during tenure of employment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Ability to properly and safely operate equipmentused.
  2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with public,guests and staff members.
  5. Must be able to operate a personal computer and usethe Internet.
    1. Must have emotional stability and the ability tomake sound decisions that conform to facility policies when dealing in adversesituations.
    2. Knowledge that their decisions may affect the totalfacility staff and the lives of others.
      1. Must be firm, fair, consistent and courteous inorder to gain the respect and cooperation of the public.
      2. Must have a positive attitude in order to fullycooperate with each team member, and adhere to rules and regulations to ensuresuccessful operation of a facility.

10.Must have the physical and mental conditionsnecessary to be able to properly and timely activate and complete the EAPsystem in the case of an emergency.

11.Must possess good oral communication skills.

12.Must be skilled in the use and care of suppliedequipment.

13.Independent judgment concerning work methods andprocedures is required.

 

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE

 

  1. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Prefer 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience.

 

 

PHYSICALDEMANDS 

 

  1. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  2. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb without any difficulty.   
  3. Ability to effectively work at different heights.
  4. Works in tiring or uncomfortable positions or situations for long periods of time.

 

WORKENVIRONMENT 

 

  1. Able to work inteam environment as a team member and as team leader.
  2. Must work inenvironmental conditions that include, but not limited to:
    1. Wet and humid environments.
    2. Indoor environmental conditions with up to 90% humidity and temperaturesranging from 70F to 120 F.
    3. Possible exposureto chemicals, fumes, dirt, caustic chemicals, acids, odors, waste, and dust
    4. Uniformed position.
