Splash Lagoon Invites PennWest Edinboro Students to Design a New Fish Sculpture!

Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort in Erie, PA, is seeking a creative partner to update one of its beloved front entrance fish sculptures! Originally part of the special Erie project “Go Fish!” in the early 2000s, this fish has faded over time, and we’re looking for a fresh, vibrant design to welcome guests as they enter for a day of splashing and fun.

How to Participate:

   You can work on it digitally or print it out. Fish Design Competition Template
   
2. Submit Your Design
   Upload your design via Splash Lagoon’s Google Form using your valid student email. Only one entry per person is accepted. Submissions must be in PDF, PNG, or JPEG format (max 10MB).
   

Entry Requirements:

• Designs must be original work created by the entrant.
• Splash Lagoon reserves the right to disqualify any entrant engaging in plagiarism or inappropriate conduct.

Painting & Materials:

• Winner will paint the 6’6”x4’5” sculpture on-site in a secure, well-ventilated area.
• Splash Lagoon will provide all painting materials.

Prizes:

• $500 Check
• Splash Lagoon Design Award
• Name on the sculpture’s plaque
• Four Splash Lagoon passes
• Artist & design showcase on Splash Lagoon’s website and social media

Judging:

Entries will be evaluated by marketing and graphic design professionals in the water park industry, with consideration given to creativity, originality, conceptualization, and overall excellence.

Timeline:

• Submission Deadline: January 15, 2026
• Winner Notified: January 16–30, 2026
• If the winner cannot be reached by February 15, 2026, a new winner may be selected
